Vision Correction Procedures
All-Laser LASIK Eye Surgery
A thin flap corneal flap is created and pulled back in order to reshape the cornea itself to correct refractive problems.
Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK)
This procedure is very similar to LASIK in that it reshapes the cornea, but PRK does not require the creation of a flap.
MonoVision LASIK
(also known as Laser PresbyVisionTM)
This is when the dominant eye is corrected for distance viewing, while the other eye is corrected for near viewing.
Implantable Contact Lens (ICL)
An implantable contact lens is inserted without having to remove the eye’s natural lens. It gives the eye more focusing power to reduce refractive errors.
Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)
(also known as Lens PresbyVisionTM)
This is when the eye’s natural lens is replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL) to correct refractive problems and achieve sharper focus.
Vision for Aging Eyes
Cataract Surgery
An incision is created in the cornea so that the eye’s cloudy lens can be replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL) to restore clear vision.
Laser Cataract Surgery
This is a bladeless form of cataract surgery that uses a computer guidance system to offer more precise measurements and results.
MonoVision LASIK
(also known as Laser PresbyVisionTM)
This is when the dominant eye is corrected for distance viewing, while the other eye is corrected for near viewing.
Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)
(also known as Lens PresbyVisionTM)
This is when the eye’s natural lens is replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL) to correct refractive problems and achieve sharper focus.
